My student permit was granted in such a short time. I didn’t expect that I will be here in Canada within barely 5 months of getting the services of Ms. Odette. It was so easy and pleasant working with her. I didn’t feel pressure at all. I am now convincing my cousin to get her services. In 2018, I was just a regular staff nurse in a big hospital in Metro Manila; when I received a calling card from Ms. Marlyn out of the blue.

I tried to apply to various countries— the US, UK, and KSA. The societal pressure, the financial challenges, and the unfortunate timing of the COVID-19 pandemic, to name a few. These factors were my driving force to push through my goal of going out of the country. But, unluckily, my shot at these countries is so narrow that I can’t find a way to fit myself into these countries.

I talked to my Tita Sally, the primary person who’s always lending her ears to me to listen to my frustrations. Without even realizing it, I haven’t considered Canada. So, I tried retrieving the calling card—and I found it.

I sent an email, which directed me to Ms. Odette. It was impossible to accomplish the process that I’d gone through instantly, but it went so smoothly that I didn’t realize I was on the last steps of the process. With God’s grace and blessing, in no time, I was here in Canada. I am so amazed by the power of the supreme being. I was too preoccupied with thinking and fighting my way to those countries that shut their doors for the ambitious me and my setting-to-fly career. But I am thankful that those doors were closed because the blessing is yet to come.

If you feel like the current of the water is against the path that you’re paddling, that is because God is setting you for a bigger and better blessing. You have to believe in the water current and let it lead you to the destination that wants you to go. Do not force things that are not meant for you. Believe, have faith, and do not control things that are uncontrollable if it’s for you if it’s meant for you.

I wouldn’t have been able to get a 3-year Post-Graduation Work Permit without them and my PR sorted out. My previous education agent had enrolled me in a private college that’s totally unknown and unheard of, and worse, not PGWP-eligible. I’m still thankful to her for helping me obtain my initial study permit but I’m mad  that she wasn’t helpful at all when I was stressed and breaking down because I could not work after graduating in that private college unless I have a sponsor. I enrolled in a public college, on my own, for a second program. My new advisors helped me with the PGWP application. They are the opposite of my previous education agent. They both showed up on our meeting, and they followed up with me. They were always ahead of the game. Being professional on these matters and providing legit service made me sleep better at night because I know they will do it and they can. I will definitely be asking for their services again for my Canadian citizenship application.
