The Philippine VAC in Cebu has re-opened with limited services while the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Manila will resume its passport submission services on Sept. 28, 2020 (Monday) through courier services.
The VAC in Manila will remain closed to the public and will request applicants to send their passports using the courier service offered by the VAC, the service update from VFS Global stated.
It added that in-person submissions are not allowed until further notice.
Available services in Philippine VAC (Cebu)
Meanwhile, the VAC in Cebu has re-opened on Sept. 21, 2020 with the following limited services:
- Biometrics collection for those with Biometrics Instruction Letters (BIL). Those who cannot give their biometrics within the timeframe stated in their letters because of the VAC closure do not need a new BIL.
- Decision envelops will be returned to applicants through the VAC’s courier service. In-person collection of decision envelopes are not allowed until further notice.
- Passport submission services will be done through courier services, similar to what is being done in the VAC in Manila.
The resumption of services in the Philippppine VAC comes after Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada announced the gradual re-opening of its in-person services on Sept. 21, 2020 which will be by appointment-only.
IRCC is set to resume limited citizenship services in Vancouver Expo and will make appointments through e-mail. Meanwhile, IRCC offices in Etobicoke and Montreal will reopen its Permanent Resident services for PR card pick up and PR determination. Applicants will be contacted by e-mail for their appointment for PR determination. Limited asylum services will also resume in the IRCC offices in Calgarry, Edmonton, Hamilton and Niagara Falls. IRCC said it will resume its asylum services in Vancouver (Hornby), Montreal and Etobicoke if the pilot project goes well.
